“i never got to ask you this before you had left,” [pauses, looks down and joins their hands] “but would you be my wife?”

[looks down at their hands] “what would your father say?”

“it doesn’t matter what he would say. i would leave my title behind for you.”

“i …” [pauses to prevent her voice from breaking] “i don’t know what i am to say.”

[without looking up from her letter] “is there something i can help you with, your highness?”

“no.”

[looks up] “then why are you staring at me? it’s distracting.”

“can’t a humble man appreciate the beauty that is his love?”

“is there a particular reason we’re taking a ride in your father’s forest?”

“yes.”

[raises eyebrow curiously] “care to tell me what it is?”

[playfully smirks] “i could, but i would rather it be a surprise.”

[her lips twitch up into a smile] “you and your sense of adventure.”

“exactly. why else would you love me?”

“i don’t know, you’re impeccable looks?”

“i can’t believe it’s you. i thought you were gone for good.”

“i thought i was too. but i had to come back.”

[smiles slightly] “for you.”

“my leige, there is someone who wishes to speak to you.”

“who is it?”

“she refuses to give her name.” [shoves hooded figure forward]

“i order you to remove your hood and state your name.”

[lifts head slightly] “as you wish.” [removes hood]

[pulls head back in surprise] “you …”

[whispers] “william.”

(ally sits, wondering about her future as a dancer as brody comes in. she quickly glances at him before resuming chewing on her bottom lip in thought)

Ally: Did people ever tell you that you couldn’t be a dancer Brody?
Brody: (chuckles lightly) It’s all I ever heard growing up. Boys can’t ballerinas. I could never be a great dancer. You name, I heard it.
Ally: So what did you do? With all the negativity I mean.
Brody: I became the best ballerino I could be. I trained hard, I pushed through injuries. I was meant to be a ballerino Ally. And if you believe that you are meant to be a dancer, then you’re meant to be a dancer.
